What I Realized About Clubs

by Adam West

Even though I got to interview a lot of clubs at Spring Expo last year, it was nowhere near the amount of clubs that I got to talk to at Fall Expo! And after getting to talk to almost every club on campus, here’s a few things I’ve learned about clubs at Centre:

  1. Most club events can have anyone show up!
    1. A lot of people think that you have to be a certain creed to show up to an event run by an Affinity Club, and that’s just not true! Most of the events are open to the public, and you can often snag some delicious food at many of these!
  2. You also don’t necessarily have to be a member to go to events.
    1. You can just stalk Groupme and show up whenever you want to.
  3. There’s a lot of really cool clubs here!
    1. Over 20 clubs were started just last year, which means that there’s a club for almost anything!
  4. Everyone’s excited about their club!
    1. People wouldn’t be in charge of a club if they didn’t care about it!
  5. You can commit as much or as little as you want.
    1. You don’t need to go to every event unless you really want to (and your schedule can afford it).
    2. You can also run for exec, which means you’ll have more responsibilities, but you can help make a difference in the club!
