Advice for finals?😬
Most importantly, I know that Thanksgiving Break will tempt you to step back and ignore schoolwork. Do not indulge in the impulse! Thanksgiving Break may provide you with what seems like a perfect week away from schoolwork. Once you return to campus, however, the full force of finals will hit you, so my advice is that you must take charge of your studying early. Projects? Take a look at the requirements, schedule appointments with partners, and have a grasp over your material by the time you return. Essays? Have an outline with research ready, if not a draft. Exams? Have your cheat sheets and study materials collected. Thanksgiving is a time to prepare without additional work placed on your shoulders. Take advantage of it. You’re almost at the finish line of this semester’s race to freedom.
That being said, though, find time for friends and family. A break should also be rejuvenating, and nothing, not even Centre, is worth hurting your mental health. Take a breath before getting ahead. Let your body rest for a bit. Balance will help you in the long run.
No matter what, though, remember to place a penny on my foot. Then I can grant you plenty of good luck. No matter how last-minute your studying may be, I am always on your team 🙂
If my roommate is going abroad, do they have to replace my roommate next semester?
The short answer is yes. If you do not find someone to fill in for your roommate’s absence, it is likely you will be assigned a random roommate. My advice would beto reach out to people you know are abroad or changing rooming situations as soon as possible to see if they would be a good match with you. Then everyone can feel more comfortable!
