Hello, Centre Students! I hope everyone enjoyed this year’s study abroad fair! However, due to some complications, some courses were left out of this year’s showcase. So, I am happy to announce five more courses for consideration for this coming 2026-2027 Abroad and Away program!
BYU / Utah – REL281 with Dr. Bae
This spring semester, consider enjoying yourself in peaceful Provo, Utah, where you can experience life as a student at Brigham Young University! Spend your time embracing the culture, studying the religion, and perfecting the art of ragebait TikTok interviews and backflips. Learn what it means to truly put your faith in someone who tells you to “just trust me bro”, and to devote yourself to going door to door, even if nobody wants you too.
Australia – PHY300 with Dr. Rodenborn
This CentreTerm, leave behind the Danville winter to go and enjoy the Australian Summer, where physicists can go and study why everything there is upside down and backwards. Students will be set free to experience the city of Sydney, where they will be able to experience the upside-down nation. Students are responsible for their own medical care if they are bitten by any snakes, spiders, or other deadly creatures.
Nara, Japan – THR 310 / BIO117 with Dr. Goff and Dr. Skidmore
One of Centre’s most popular study abroad programs is our program to Akita, Japan. We have seen you, and have decided to open up a new program in the island nation, specifically for our Theatre or Biology students. Go to Nara Island, where, for an entire semester, you will dedicate yourself to becoming one with the shika deer who roam the island freely. This is an incredibly independent study, as there will be no human interaction: Only deer.
Ireland – HIS260 with Dr Harney
We are so excited to offer our newest CentreTerm program in the backwoods of Ireland, where students will learn faery trickery from the woods of Celtic lands. Learn how to steal names, steal babies, and just sort of fuck people over while being really tiny and freaky looking. Unlike most courses, this one is only available to graduating seniors in their spring term, as they will not be able to return to campus, or the real world.
Jupiter – NSC300 / PHI 210 with Dr. Demoranville and Dr. La Londe
Centre College has recently reached out with Space Exploration at NASA in order to take our students to the planet Jupiter to ask one question: If you go there, will you really get more stupiter? This Summer Term course will start students off in preparing to enter space, while also preparing their minds to ask Earth’s oldest question. Is it as based on gender as we were led to believe it was? Or is there science behind the childish tease?
We look forward to seeing where you will go! Happy studying, Centre!
