By Laura Linkous, Kappa Delta- Iota Chapter President
In 1897, four young women at State Female Normal School of Virginia (now Longwood University) joined together with a common vision. They sought to create something “higher and nobler,” an organization that would empower women through friendship and high ideals. Over 125 years later, the sorority continues to live the dream of its founders by providing a lifelong experience for our members through support and sisterhood.
The Iota Chapter of Kappa Delta was originally founded in 1907 at Caldwell College in Danville, KY, which merged into Centre College in 1930. Our chapter was proudly reestablished at Centre College in 2016. Since then, we have strived to live out our vision statement by building confidence in women and inspiring them to action through the power of lifelong friendship. We are so excited to announce that Kappa Delta will celebrate our ten year anniversary at homecoming this year and we hope you will join us in commemorating this milestone.
