Centre College has a highly active Greek Life, with around 50% of the student population participating. There are five sororities and, until this year, six fraternities. A seventh fraternity is chartering now!<\/p>\n
Oozma Kappa is an international and interdimensional Greek organization that was founded in 2011. Its members value true brotherhood, personal growth, and heart over elite status. While less historied than other fraternities, Oozma Kappa (often shortened to OK) is eager to begin building a future on Centre\u2019s campus.<\/p>\n
If you\u2019re looking for exceptional loyalty, a supportive environment, and a diverse group of friends, you might fit right in with the OK brothers. <\/p>\n
Another benefit to joining OK: the alumni. The fraternity gained national recognition in the United States after notable brother James Sullivan led an awareness campaign of rising energy costs and production scarcity. Readers may also be familiar with popular comedian Michael Wazowski. <\/p>\n
The Cento reached out to both Sullivan and Wazowski to inquire about their experiences with Oozma Kappa.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis is going to be enormous for energy production,\u201d Sullivan said. \u201cI mean, what else do college guys do but yell? This entire time, we\u2019ve been focusing on laughter, but young adult screams, I mean, they are just off the charts. I\u2019ve been looking into the bylaws, and um, the hazing, well, as long as we\u2019re clear it\u2019s voluntary\u2014the guys will just start screaming unprovoked. It\u2019s great.\u201d<\/p>\n
When asked to focus on benefits for new members, he added, \u201cHow else does anyone ever get a job? Of course you have to join a fraternity.\u201d<\/p>\n
Wazowski was not available for comment. <\/p>\n
Tom Foolery, a junior, is currently the Centre student leading the chartering process. He shares, \u201cI want to bring Oozma Kappa here because I want a place to belong. I think there\u2019s a big opportunity here to bring people together. I want a family. I want to find guys who wear khaki shorts and sandals to class. I know they are out there.\u201d<\/p>\n
